D.mess is a free communication program for the real-time interchange of messages in a local area network. This software is based on using of mailslot (it's compatible with winpopup and net send) and has an easy-to-understand interface in ICQ style. D.mess doesn't require an obligatory Internet-connection or a special dedicated server for the full-scale work, and all users has an equal access to the resources of the program.
